Trends in College Pricing

The College Board’s annual survey of colleges, Trends in College Pricing provides up-to-date information on expenses associated with attending public and private nonprofit postsecondary education institutions in the United States. According to this report, the average published tuition and fee charges for undergraduates in 2006-07 are:

Two-year public colleges average $2,272 per year

Four-year public colleges average $5,836 per year

Four-year private colleges average $22,218 per year
